Are there any prerequisite casting considerations?

At Lila, we believe in equal representation among our talent pool. It does not matter your race, your creed, your age, your gender. What matters is your passion for acting, your voice quality, and your best effort to bring this new medium of reality gaming to life.

Who am I performing for?

You will be performing through your avatar character in virtual space in front of 1-6 live participants who are also portrayed as avatars. 

How do I sign up to audition?

Go to our actors page, and click the Aura Casting link. 

How much do I get paid?

It depends on the number of players that are scheduled in your show. The average range is between $25 and $50 an hour.

Do you work with union actors as well as non-union?

Yes, we work with all actors, regardless of union or non-union affiliation. The SAG-AFTRA NorCal office has suggested the Short Form Project agreement as a way to move forward. If you are a union member, then have your local rep reach out to us at Actors@lilalive.net

Say I get the part, is there a rehearsal process?

Yes! Lila requires you to rehearse your lines, practice improv, and train your avataric movements in the virtual space. You will be paired up with a training coach upon successful completion of your audition.

What do I need to get started?

You’ll need:

  • a Quest 2

  • a strong internet connection

  • a 6 by 6 foot place space that is reasonably quiet

How do I get paid?

Once you complete a show, you’ll be sent payment via direct deposit into your bank account or venmo.

How do I build a following?

We encourage you to hustle for followers! Use your social media channels, word of mouth, and other marketing tools to get your message out. We also stream our shows on Twitch. Actors with the highest rankings will have opportunities to be a part of our weekly Twitch broadcasts.

When am I scheduled to perform?

You tell us! We craft the scheduling calendar around your calendar, just as long as it is consistent and you show up when you are called to perform.
